چکیده

A family of reflected Brownian motions is used to construct Dyson’s process of non-colliding Brownian motions. A number of explicit formulae are given, including one for the distribution of a family of coalescing Brownian motions.

Noncolliding Brownian motions and Harish-Chandra formula

We consider a system of noncolliding Brownian motions introduced in our previous paper, in which the noncolliding condition is imposed in a finite time interval (0, T ]. This is a temporally inhomogeneous diffusion process whose transition probability density depends on a value of T , and in the limit T → ∞ it converges to a temporally homogeneous diffusion process called Dyson’s model of Brown...

Ordered Random Walks

We construct the conditional version of k independent and identically distributed random walks on R given that they stay in strict order at all times. This is a generalisation of so-called non-colliding or non-intersecting random walks, the discrete variant of Dyson’s Brownian motions, which have been considered yet only for nearest-neighbor walks on the lattice. Our only assumptions are moment...

On the Shuffling Algorithm for Domino Tilings∗

We study the dynamics of a certain discrete model of interacting interlaced particles that comes from the so called shuffling algorithm for sampling a random tiling of an Aztec diamond. It turns out that the transition probabilities have a particularly convenient determinantal form. An analogous formula in a continuous setting has recently been obtained by Jon Warren studying certain model of i...

Zeros of Airy Function and Relaxation Process

One-dimensional system of Brownian motions called Dyson’s model is the particle system with long-range repulsive forces acting between any pair of particles, where the strength of force is β/2 times the inverse of particle distance. When β = 2, it is realized as the Brownian motions in one dimension conditioned never to collide with each other. For any initial configuration, it is proved that D...
